Dimensions:
An elegant pair of reclaimed Victorian pine Cardiff doors for internal use. The doors have a lovely period look with multiple panels of varying sizes, for you to glaze to suit. Often Cardiff doors are glazed with stained glass of varying colours. The doors have been stripped but they may have been stripped in a tank as there is some dampness in places and therefore the doors may be best left stripped. Please contact us for advice if you wish to paint the doors.
The doors are reclaimed antiques and have some signs of age and some damage, as expected. The doors have some knocks, scratches, chips and splintering, especially to the edges and corners. The top of the doors especially have some splintering. There are some holes left from hardware removal and some of the small holes have had filler applied. There are some wood knots and knocks with filler added. One door has a wood knot on one edge which has left a slight hole (picture 14). There is some residue varnish and you will need to sand the doors further to remove this. There is some roughness to the glazing bars and some have some splits and damage. The pine has a slight texture in places. The door thicknesses are very slightly different. The door heights may need slight levelling. Please see pictures for condition details. The doors have a very nice elegant appearance that would be fantastic for a period property and once you glaze and finish the doors they will make a lovely feature for a home.
