CS0118 TWO TALL RECLAIMED VICTORIAN CUPBOARD / LARDER DOORS / SHUTTERS

Code: CS0118

SOLD

Two tall, reclaimed, original Victorian painted pine doors, ideal for use as cupboard doors, larder / pantry doors or shutters. The doors are of a very similar design and size but they were not originally a pair. Each door has three recessed panels, with beading on the front face. Both doors have a rebated left hand side edge and a sloping right hand side edge, when looking at the front of the doors, and therefore some work will be needed to make them fit together as a pair. We can remove one rebated outer edge and add a rebate to the inner edge of one door, so they sit well together, for an extra charge, please contact us for details and a quote. PLEASE NOTE: if rebate work is carried out the door widths will change, please ask us for more details. There is a swing bar attached to the back of one door and a receiver on the back of the other door but they do not align and you may wish to remove these.

The paint has extensive flaking, chipping and dark stains and the doors will need to be sanded and re-painted by purchaser to suit. The doors have some signs of age and some damage, as expected of reclaimed items. The pine has knocks, splits and some damage. The hinges are damaged and have surface rust and there is some damage where hinges have been removed. New hinges will need to be supplied by purchaser. The door edges have some knocks and chips. There is some damage to the base of one door. Door heights may need slight levelling. One panel had a long split that can be seen from both sides. Please see pictures for condition details. The doors have great period character and are of a good size, ideal for a home project.
