A set of reclaimed very tall Victorian painted pine shutters. The shutters comprise of 6 leaves, designed to sit with 3 on either side. When open, the shutters will fold back behind the outer shutter of each side. Each leaf has three recessed panels, with mouldings on the front face. The back face has flush panels. The outer edges of the outer shutters are tapered slightly. The shutters have a large metal stay bar and receiver. The shutters have been painted but there are stains, marks and flaking to the paint and you may wish to sand and re-paint them to suit.
The shutters are very tall and could be resized by removing the top panel and reducing the base. The shutters are currently 298.2cm but they could be reduced to 207cm approximately. We can reduce the size of the shutters for an extra charge, please contact us for a quote and to discuss your requirements.
The shutters are in solid antique condition with some signs of wear and some damage commensurate with age. The pine has some knocks, chips, splintering and surface splits. The outer right hand shutter has damage to the top edge. We can patch repair the damage to the top edge for an extra charge, please contact us for details and a quote. The edges and corners of the shutters have some knocks and chips. There are some holes in the pine. The stay bar and receiver have surface rust. The outer hinges have surface rust and damage and will need to be replaced. The inner leaf hinges attaching the shutters to each other have seized and some work will be needed to free them. Please see pictures for condition details. The shutters have great Victorian style and character and would make a fantastic feature in a home.
