Dimensions:
A fine quality reclaimed Victorian polished brass and iron fire register / firegrate. The elegant fire register has an ornate Adam style design with serpentine fretwork set in-between square tapered legs. There is fine engraving on the wings featuring a circular design and on the central plaque under the grill, with pretty flowers and swags. The register has large brass finials on top of the legs and urn finials on either side of the top front bar. The fire register has three shaped front bars and a grill. There is an arch topped fire back with a decorative urn design. The back has some makers marks. The fire register is in good antique condition with some signs of use, commensurate with age. The brass has been polished but there are still some areas of tarnish, as expected. The register has some small scratches and marks. The fireback has some small chips and marks. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire register is a fine example of Victorian design and would make a stunning feature for a fireplace and it is a desirable and elegant item.
