A handsome, reclaimed, aesthetic movement cast iron combination fire, likely to date to C.1900. The fire is for DECORATIVE USE ONLY and has an elegant design, typical of the era, with flowers on the crossbar and legs and an ornate smoke hood with a leaf and flower design. The fire retains its fire back, grill and shaped front bars. The fire has been blacked and polished and the iron has a nice finish. There are two fixing lugs, one on either side under the mantel, for fixing the fire to the wall. The fire is in good condition with some small signs of age, as expected of reclaimed antiques. The top flap is fixed shut and therefore the fire is for DECORATIVE USE ONLY. The fire has some pitting (especially to the mantel), casting marks and small knocks. The fire brick has some unevenness to the surface. The back of the fire has surface rust, as expected. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire has a very nice period design and it would make a fantastic decorative feature for a fireplace.
