A reclaimed, cast iron, Victorian bedroom fire insert, paired with a pine fire surround. The fire insert has a pretty design, typical of the era, with decorative arched borders with repeating flower patterns. The fire insert retains its top plate with fleur-de-lys style design and its shaped front bars. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a good finish. The reclaimed pine insert has fluted detailing and a delicate egg and dart carved border on the inner edges. The fire insert and surround are in solid antique condition with some signs of wear and some damage commensurate with age. The surround has some knocks, holes and chips and there is a hole in the mantel. The pine has some discolouration and staining. There is a small gap where the mouldings meet at the top inner edge of one leg. The cast iron insert has some small scratches, some casting marks and some pitting. The back has surface rust, as expected. The fire brick has some small knocks. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire insert and surround have a lovely period look and will add great character to a fireplace.
