A very large reclaimed, decorative, elegant carved pine fire surround. The surround is a vintage reproduction of traditional designs of the late Victorian period. The fire surround has a very ornate appearance with the legs having an Ionic column design with fluting. The crossbar has carved acanthus leaves and a rose with swags. There is a decorative repeating border around the fire opening. The pine has a nice colour and has been waxed at some point. The fire surround could be paired with a cast iron insert or used for decorative purposes. The surround is in good reclaimed condition with some signs of use, as expected. There are some knocks, chips and splintering, especially to the edges of the mantel. The front of the mantel has some larger knocks. The pine has some marks and scratches. The sides of the legs have some gouges and scratches from where it has been removed from its original position. The feet have some knocks. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire surround has a very elegant look and is ideal for a period home, making a fantastic addition to a fireplace.
