A handsome, reclaimed, oak stable door with glazing. The door is ideal for external use, but could also be used internally, perhaps in a utility or boot room. The solid oak door is very well made with mortise and tenon joints and has fantastic leaded glass. The glass is believed to meet current safety requirements and has a repeated diamond shape formed by the lead work. There is a strengthening bar on the internal face to provide support to the glass. The external face of the door has been stripped of its stain and the internal face still has a medium brown stain. The oak has an attractive grain. The external face will need finishing by purchaser to suit. The lower section of the door has a dead lock and key, however the top has no key. There are 4 brass hinges and iron handles and a catch on the top half of the door. The base of the door has decorative metal studs and there are metal staples used on the inner face. The door is in very good, solid, condition but does have some small signs of wear and age, as expected of reclaimed items. The door has some small knocks, marks, scratches and chips. There are some small surface cracks and splits that do not affect the structural integrity of the door. The base staples have some surface rust and there is some slight tarnish to the door hardware. There is some slight colour variation to the external face of the door due to cleaning. Please see pictures for condition details. The door is a very well made item and is a very attractive stable door. Perfect for a cottage or rustic home, the stable door has plenty of character and charm.
