DE1009 A RECLAIMED OAK COTTAGE FRONT DOOR & FRAME FOR PROTECTED AREA

Code: DE1009

SOLD

A handsome, reclaimed, oak door and frame with a Gothic style appearance. The door has mortise and tenon joints and the front face of the door has plank detail and the top of the planks form an arch. There are two decorative Gothic style iron door straps, an iron lock cover and there is an iron handle on both sides with flur-de-lys detail. The back face of the door has a simple panel design. The door comes with an oak frame with nice detailing in the top corners and the top inner edge is cut to create an arched shape. The frame has a sill. Please note: The door has some movement in the panels and the door has a bit of a twist, therefore the door will need to be placed in a protected area, such as under a porch. Please contact us if you require further information about this.

The door is reclaimed and has some signs of use and wear, as expected. There is no key for the top and bottom lock but there is a key for the centre lock. The other locks will need to be changed. The oak has some small knocks, marks and discolouration. There is a patch of filler or similar on the back face of the door. The frame and door have some knocks and chips and some colour variation. The frame has some splintering, knocks and small holes and there is a small amount of oak peeling on one side. The top of the frame, on the inside face, has a small section of oak cut away. The iron door furniture and hinges have some tarnish and surface rust. Please see pictures for condition details. The door has a handsome Gothic style appearance and it would be a useful and characterful item.
