A very attractive Victorian pine front door, fitted with beautiful Art Nouveau Vaseline stained glass. The door is a solid and well made item with gunstock stiles and 2 panels with planked pine and chamfered edges. The pine has been stripped and is ready for finishing by purchaser, with either an exterior paint, oil or wax. The vaseline glass, which was used mostly in America in the early 20th century, has a beautiful design with purple and blue flowers in the Art Nouveau style. Vaseline glass has a colour changing effect with the textured look of vaseline that is very interesting. The flowers are surrounded by plain and textured glass and the lead glazing bars form part of the decorative design. The door will require hardware and there are some signs of wear as expected of antique items. The glass has some minor cracks, including the purple flowers. There are some small holes and scratches to the pine and there are some holes from door hardware removal. We can offer a patch repair service for an extra charge, please contact us for details and a quote. There are slight height and width differences from one edge of the door to the other and the door may need slight adjusting. The door has a wonderful period look with stunning vaseline glass, perfect for adding character to a home.
