M1536 A VERY PRETTY SMALL VICTORIAN HAND PAINTED STAINED GLASS WINDOW

Code: M1536

SOLD

A very pretty, petite, reclaimed Victorian stained glass window. The window is very finely hand painted with a delicate design. The window features four panels, each with the same design, with a central flower in a diamond shape, surrounded by painted leaves and flowers and coloured border glass. The design is clear and the colours are still bright. The pine frame has been painted white and it has elegant glazing bars. The window has some damage to the glass and frame and signs of age, as expected. The glass has some cracks and breaks, some are smaller and there are some larger cracks to one panel. The glass does bow slightly in the frame. One side of the frame has very flaky paint and the other side of the frame has some damage to one edge. The frame has some loose edging. The frame will need stripping and re-painting by purchaser to suit. There is some residue paint on the leadwork and some oxidisation. Please see pictures for condition details. The window is a great example of Victorian craftsmanship and would make a lovely addition to the home. The painting is of a fine quality and it is a very desirable item.
