An elegant, reclaimed, Victorian painted pine four panel front door. The door is well made, with mortise and tenon joints. The door has a very pretty design, typical of the era, with two panels at the base of the door with fine bolection mouldings. The two top panels are glazed with pretty etched glass and have the same bolection mouldings. The glass may pass safety regulations and the exposed glass width is 115mm. Purchaser must check the glass will meet regulations before hanging the door. There is space in front of the glass for us to fit toughened glass panels if required. Please contact us if you would like a quote for toughened glass. The door has been painted, however the paint has chips and knocks and the blue face has another colour tested on it. Purchaser will need to strip the door and repaint to suit. The locks will need to be removed and replaced as there is no key. There is a space for a letter box plate. The door is in solid condition but it has some signs of wear and will need some restoration, as expected of reclaimed antiques. There are some marks and holes from hardware removal. There are some small knocks and chips, especially to the base edges. The mouldings will need some restoration as they have a lot of filler and some cracking. Please see pictures for condition details. The height and width may need slight levelling and the door width could be cut to 762mm. The side stiles are currently 95mm but could be made to 85mm. The door has a very elegant appearance and will look fantastic once re-painted. The door is an example of fine Victorian design and would add great character to a period home.
