A substantial and very pretty, reclaimed, Victorian painted pine front door. The door is heavy and well made with mortise and tenon joints and has a very attractive look. The external face of the door has 3 very slightly raised panels and the internal face has 3 recessed panels with mouldings. A real feature of the door is the large panel at the top that has been fitted with small, leaded, stained glass panels that have coloured roundels in the centre and are surrounded by textured clear glass and red border pieces. In the centre of the stained glass panels is a large panel for glazing. We can glaze the panel for an extra charge, please contact us to discuss your requirements and for a quote. The door has been painted, black on the external face and white on the internal face, but the paint has some flaking, chips and marks and purchaser will need to sand and re-paint the door to suit. The door is in good solid condition with some signs of wear and age, as expected of reclaimed antiques. The door has some holes and marks left from hardware removal and some knocks where the lock has been removed. We can patch repair holes for an extra charge, please contact us for details and a quote. The door has some small knocks and chips. There are two cracks in the glass, one larger crack to a textured clear panel and a smaller crack to a thin textured border piece at the top of the door. Some of the stained glass panels have some bowing. There are some knocks to the edges of the large panel for glazing, on the internal face of the door. A letter box hole has been patch repaired leaving a thin outline. The door width may need slight levelling. Please see pictures for condition details. The door has a very elegant appearance and is a fantastic example of Victorian design, making it perfect for a large Victorian property.
