SOLD

A very large, handsome, reclaimed Gothic Victorian oak door for use as an external gate or to be placed in a sheltered area. The door is very heavy and is of an impressive size. The door has a fantastic Gothic appearance with four vertical panels and a traditionally Gothic arched top. The inside face of the door has two thick ledges. The door has three decorative metal Griffin hinge fronts but please note that the top hinge is missing. Purchaser will need to replace the missing hinge and they are of a size that should be easily obtainable. The oak has been stripped back to bare wood, ready for purchaser to apply a finish. The door has several large cracks and splits in the panels. The panels would be very difficult to replace and therefore it may be best for purchaser to apply a good quality 2 pack filler to the cracks. Due to the cracks, the door is now suited for use as an external gate or could perhaps be used as an external door if placed in a sheltered position. The door has some holes and marks left from hardware removal. The oak has some discolouration. One of the joints at the base has some slight separation. The hinges and hinge fronts have some slight tarnish. The oak has some knocks and scratches. The door height may need slight levelling. Please see pictures for condition details. The door is a handsome reclaimed antique item that would make a nice feature for a home.
