A handsome, reclaimed, stripped pine Neo-Gothic external door. The door is of a very large size and has an attractive period design. The door is currently set up with four flush panels on the internal face and four recessed panels with chamfered detailing on the external face. The door could be used in the more traditional fashion with flush panels on the external face but the letterbox space will require work as it is currently angled the other way. We could route the letterbox space and patch repair hinge holes, if required, for an extra charge, please contact us for details and a quote. The door is very heavy, solid and well made with mortise and tenon joints. The door has been stripped to bare wood but there is some paint residue left and purchaser may wish to re-sand the door before finishing. Please note: the top of the door is currently fitted with a slim baton and the door height with and without the baton has been listed below and purchaser can remove it if required.
The door is in solid reclaimed condition with some signs of wear and some damage, as expected. One side edge has some damage and splits that are not possible to repair and therefore the door will need to be resized to the width below. We can resize the door for an extra charge, please contact us for details. The door has marks and holes where hardware has been removed. Some holes have been patch repaired. One base panel has a split but it is solid and stable. There are some knocks, scratches, splintering and marks to the pine. Please see pictures for condition details. The door has a very nice period appearance and is of a good quality, making it a lovely feature for a home.
