A tall, elegant, reclaimed Victorian glazed front door. The door is solid and well made and has a nice appearance, typical of the Victorian era. The base of the door has three slender recessed panels with decorative mouldings. The door has five panels, fitted with patterned etched glass. The top three panels will meet safety standards but the two larger glazed panels WILL NOT meet current safety standards. If you like the design of the glass we can quote to replace the two larger panels with toughened glass of the same pattern, please contact us for details. Alternatively we could replace all the glass, please contact us to discuss your requirements and for a quote. The door has been painted in a dark grey / blue but there are some scratches and knocks and you may wish to sand and re-paint the door to suit. The door has a lock but no key and it will therefore need to be changed. There is a space for a letterplate and the door has a brass pull handle. The internal side of the door has a strip of modern draft excluder that you may wish to remove or replace.
The door is in solid reclaimed condition with some signs of age and damage, as expected of antique items. The external face of the door has sustained a knock to the top edge. Some pine has broken away but this has been repaired with wood glue and there are some further knocks and chips out of the wood. The internal face of the door has an uneven top edge, presumably from old damage. The hardware has some tarnish. The pine has some knocks and chips, especially to the lock edge. There is an indentation under the number 45 where a pull handle or knocker was removed. The door height may need slight levelling. Please see pictures for condition details. The door has a very nice period design and it would make a lovely addition to a home.
