A slim and nicely made, reclaimed, Victorian style hardwood front door. The door is heavy and very well made with mortise and tenon joints and has a lovely period style appearance with two arched panels, fitted with clear toughened glass (the safety stamp can be seen in the corners of the glass). The base of the door has two panels, with bolection moulding on the external face. The door has a space for a letter plate and there is a drip bar attached to the bottom of the external face. The door has been painted black on the external face and white on the internal face but the paint has marks, flaking and chipping and you may wish to sand and re-paint the door to suit. The door has a lock but it has no key and you will need to replace it.
The door is in solid reclaimed condition, with some signs of use, as expected of reclaimed items. The door has some knocks, chips and thin surface splits. There are some holes visible along the drip bar where screws have been added. There are some notches at the top of the letter plate opening. The hinges have some tarnish. The door height may need slight levelling. Please see pictures for condition details. The door has an elegant period look and has been well made. The door is ideal for a house that requires a slimmer front door and it would make a nice feature for a home.
