Two very large and imposing, pitch pine, Neo-Gothic door surrounds / architrave dating to C.1880. The surrounds have a typically Gothic style with trefoils in each corner. The legs and crossbar have stop chamfer detailing with hand carved arrow heads and the surrounds have block feet. The surrounds have a deep colour but purchaser may prefer to strip and re-finish the wood to suit. The surrounds are well made and solid but do have some signs of use and wear consistent with age. There are some chips, scrapes and knocks. The frames have some discolouration and marks and may need stripping and re-finishing. There is some damage from previous use where where architrave met the surround legs. The surrounds are a fantastic example of Neo-Gothic design and their size and appearance would make them ideal for adding period character to a home or business.
