A pair of elegant antique stripped pine internal / external French doors with Gothic detailing. The doors are solid and well made, with mortise and tenon joints and gunstock detailing and are likely to date to the late Victorian period, C.1890. The pine has an attractive grain and good colouration and has been hand sanded ready for finishing by purchaser. The doors have a lovely appearance, each featuring a recessed panel surrounded by bolection moulding on the external face and recessed moulding on the internal face. Each door has a large top panel with a Gothic style arch, ready for glazing. We can glaze the doors for an extra charge, please contact us to discuss your requirements and for a quote. The doors have been used externally and have a weather strip on the external face, however we can remove these and change the mouldings so both side match, if required, for an extra charge. Please contact us for a quote. We would recommend painting the doors if weather strips are removed as there will be some marks and discolouration. The doors are in good antique condition but do have some signs of wear and have had some repairs. The doors do have some holes and marks where door hardware has been removed. We can patch repair doors for an extra charge, please let us know at time of purchase if you would like this service. The doors have some existing filler and patch repairs. The bolection moulding has some gaps between the joints. There are some cracks and surface splits but they do not affect the structural integrity of the doors. There are some small knocks and chips, especially to the edges and corners. The hinges will need replacing as they are broken. Hardware will need to be supplied by purchaser. Please see pictures for condition details. The doors have a very elegant appearance and lovely Gothic detailing. The doors would be ideal for adding period charm to a home.
