Two reclaimed, antique, pine internal ex-church room dividers / doors. Each door has two panels for glazing and underneath these, two recessed panels with mouldings. We can glaze the doors for an extra charge, please contact us to discuss your requirements and for a quote. The doors have been painted cream and one face has varnish to the top half of the doors, however, the paint has chipping, flaking and losses and the varnish has fading and purchaser will need to sand and refinish the doors to suit. One door has an iron door shoe and a further iron patch at the base.
The doors are ideal for use as a sliding door or as a pair, however the doors will need some refiguration. As set up in the photographs the outer edges of each door have a rounded rebated edge. The inner edge of each door is different, one with a groove or channel and the other with a rebate. If to be used as a pair, the doors will need the outer edge rebates removed and the edge with the groove will need to be cut by approx 1.5cm and the other door will need the rebate removing. We can square the door edges and then add a rebate closing bead on the inner edges, for an extra charge. The width of the pair once squared and rebate added will be 171.5cm APPROX. The doors could also be used on a sliding door track (purchaser will need to supply sliding door gear and track). If used as sliding doors then the edges may not need to be altered. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and for advice.
The doors are in solid reclaimed condition with some signs of age and wear, as expected. The doors have had some patch repairs, knocks and chips. There is some slight separation to the joints in areas. There are some indentations and marks left from door hardware removal and there are some nails in the wood. The iron door shoe has some surface rust. The edge of one door has sustained a knock (please see last picture). The top of one door has been levelled but there are some splinters that will need sanding and the doors heights may need some further levelling. Please see pictures for condition details. The doors have a nice period look and once glazed and re-finished they will add great character to a space.
