A pair of very elegant and attractive, reclaimed, Victorian pine doors with beautiful etched glass panels. The doors are suitable for internal or external use and have been very well made and have elegant gunstock stiles. Each door has a recessed panel at its base with mouldings and the inner edges of the doors are rebated so they sit nicely together when closed. Above the recessed panels are large panels fitted with stunning etched glass. Each glass panel features an urn, flowers and acanthus leaves, a design typical of the period. The glass is 10mm thick. We can have a safety film applied to the glass, for extra safety. This would be a must if the doors are to be used commercially. The extra cost of filming the glass is £120. Please let us know if you would like this service. The doors have been painted but the paint has some chips and flaking and you may wish to sand and re-paint the doors to suit.
The doors are in good antique condition with some signs of age and wear, as expected. There are some knocks and chips to the pine and one of the doors has a crack to the inner edge at the base of the door (see picture 4). The doors have some small holes, surface splits and there are some holes left from hardware removal. The hinges have some surface rust. Please see pictures for condition details. The doors have a lovely period appearance and they would make a fantastic showpiece for a home.
