A pretty, Edwardian, cast iron combination fire, suitable for a bedroom or small reception room. The fire has a simple and classic style with a very attractive curved smoke hood. The fire has a plain borders and very pretty, original, front bars with curved shape, delicate flowers and urn finial to each end. The fire has an RD number which is quite eroded but we believe it to be RD 387739, dating the fire to between 1900-1909. The fire is an antique and therefore does have some slight signs of use and wear. The cast iron has been blacked and polished, giving a lovely colour and finish, however there are some casting marks and scratches. There are some deep casting marks, creases or scratches above the smoke hood and one to the right corner of the border above the smoke hood. The concrete back has a break but the fire is still useable. The iron above the concrete has a rough finish. There is some surface rust to the back of the fire, as expected of antique items and some light rust to the grill. The fire has a fantastic style, typical of the Edwardian era and its classic design would suit many interiors. A pretty and desireable item.
