The door's considerable age (pre-1807) makes it perhaps more suited as a very interesting table top or a sliding door. A kit can be bought easily and the door can be adapted by purchaser to fit the sliding door track, please contact us if advice is required. Due to the door's age there are considerable signs of wear and use, giving the oak fantastic character and interest. The oak has several large splits and there are many (treated) woodworm holes. The oak planks differ in width giving a rustic appearance. The base rail is uneven in size. Some large holes are present to one edge where the hardware has been removed. The depth of the door varies due to wear and erosion. A patch repair to one edge can be seen. There is a cut mark to a plank on the back face of the door. The oak has a rough appearance. Marks, knocks and considerable wear can be seen, please see photographs for details. The door is solid and useable. A fantastic item with an abundance of history and character, it is rare to see such an early door in useable condition. The door illustrates the great quality, handcrafted, Georgian workmanship of the time and is a desirable item, full of character and interest.

Please note measurements are approximate due to wear and age.
