A pretty antique original Art Nouveau cast iron bedroom fire surround

A very pretty, original, Art Nouveau cast iron bedroom fire surround. The fire is suitable for decorative use and will make a beautiful period feature. The fire cavity, once the fire is installed, could be used for storage baskets or pretty candles. The fire has a design traditional to the Art Nouveau era, with flowers and curved leaves, associated with the style. The smoke hood has a domed design with serpentine edge. The fixing lugs are present and in good condition. The iron has been burnished and lacquered and the fire has an attractive silvery colour. The fire has some slight wear due to age. The back has surface rust, as expected. The fire has some casting marks, light knocks and scratches. The iron has light surface rust and tarnish. The fire has a stunning look and a desirable burnished finish. The fire is a wonderful example of Art Nouveau design and is ideal for adding character to a home.
