A classic and elegant Edwardian slate fire surround. The surround has been stripped, blacked and polished to accentuate the fires design. The fire has a small shelf below the mantel and the cross bar has an interesting design etched in to the slate. The fire has decorative corbels below the mantel with attractive marble buttons. The fire is complete and comes with a slate packing bar that is placed under the cross bar to hold it steady. The fire opening width can be adjusted slightly as the legs can be moved right up to the shelf or slightly further apart. The fire is antique and therefore has some slight signs of wear and age. There are some small marks, knocks and wear, especially to the feet of the fire. The underside of the shelf has some deep scratch marks. The fire has a very stylish look that would compliment a modern or period home and would add a great deal of character to a fireplace.
