DP0260 A PAIR OF VICTORIAN CARDIFF DOORS WITH STAINED GLASS

SOLD

Code: DP0260

Dimensions:

W: 103cm (40.6")H: 192cm (75.6")D: 3.7cm (1.5")

A pair of Victorian pine Cardiff doors with attractive stained glass panels. The doors are suitable for internal use and are very well made with gunstock stiles and panels with decorative mouldings. The doors are stripped to bare wood and are ready for finishing by purchaser, either with a wax, oil or paint finish. The top half of the doors have lovely glazed panels with thin pine glazing bars. The doors have large clear glass panels that are bordered by orange and pink stained glass with a rippled finish. The plain glass is 6mm thick and meets with current safety regulations. The doors have a rebate to the inside edge and therefore sit nicely when closed together. The doors are antique and therefore have some slight signs of wear and age. The pine has some staining to the panels and mouldings. One panel has had a thin strip of wood replaced and the replacement wood is slightly darker. There are small holes and marks where hardware has been removed and the door hardware will need to be supplied by purchaser. Some putty has been applied to larger holes. The hinges are missing or broken and will need replacing. One door has a small metal plate attached to the base that was used to hook the door open. The metal should be able to be removed by purchaser. The doors have some small marks and surface splits that do not affect their structural integrity. The doors have a very slight difference in height so may need very slight levelling. The doors have a very pretty appearance and would add fantastic style and period charm to a home. The doors are of a fine quality and are very versatile and desirable.
