M1258 A PAIR OF ANTIQUE STAINED GLASS PANELS WITH HAND PAINTING

A pair of very pretty antique stained glass panels with hand painted pictures. The large panels may have originally been set into a door or window and have beautiful pale squares of glass, triangular frosted plain glass and small green roundels. At the centre of each panel is a circular hand painted panel, each with a different design. The painting is of a very fine quality and depicts a snow covered and thatch cottage. Each is surrounded with red border glass. The antique lead work is intact and of a fine quality. The panels are antique and do have some breaks and repairs and would benefit from some further restoration. There is a visible repair with putty or glue attached to the back of one blue section of glass and will perhaps need replacing. There are some small and some larger breaks to the glass, please see pictures for further details. The lead work has some tarnish and slight knocks. The panels are fragile due to size and age and will need handling with care. The stained glass panels have fantastic colour and very fine hand painting. Ideal for a period home, the panels would add great character to a home.

POSTAGE: Postage is included in the price. The panels will be well packaged in a box made from timber with a ply frame and the panels wrapped in foam packaging. PLEASE NOTE while we take every care with packaging Royal Mail and all other couriers will NOT insure against breakages to glass and postage is at buyers risk. Collection is also welcome.
