A pretty and delicate Victorian cast iron combination fireplace with a very attractive design. The fire is of an ideal size for a bedroom or smaller reception room. The fire has a very pretty domed smoke hood with serpentine edge. The fire features Adam style designs, typical of the era, with swags and bows under the mantel and down the legs and leaves and a large oval on the smoke hood. There is a shaped border around the body of the fire and the original shaped front bars are present. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a lovely finish. The fire is in good antique condition with some light signs of use and wear. The back has surface rust as expected. The fire has some small casting marks, tarnish and scratches, especially to the mantel and cross bar. There is a patch under the mantel where some of the surface has flaked slightly but it has been blacked and polished and a small indentation can be seen. The concrete fire back has a crack but it is stable and useable. Suitable for a bedroom and ideal for a period property, the fire is a very pretty and desirable item. A fine example of Victorian design.
