FS0075 ELEGANT VICTORIAN CAST IRON FIRE SURROUND FOR WOOD BURNER

An elegant, classical style, Victorian cast iron fire surround of an ideal size for a living room or bedroom. The fire has a simple design with a large swag and bows in the Adam style typical of the era. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a lovely finish. The surround can be paired with a fire basket or wood burner. The original lugs are present at the back of the mantel and are designed to bet set into the wall. The fire is in very good condition but is antique and therefore has some slight signs of use and wear. There are some casting marks, pitting and scratches visible. The front of the mantel has a rough edge, perhaps from casting and a similar rough edge to the inside of one leg, please see pictures for details. The back has surface rust as expected. The fire surround's classical and elegant style would make it ideal for a period home and is a desirable and well made item.
