An elegant, classic style, Victorian cast iron combination fireplace of an ideal size for a living room or dining room. The fire has an attractive smoke hood with waved line design. The fire has plain borders around the rectangular opening and there is a decorative scrolled design above the concrete fire back. The fire has shaped front bars. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a lovely finish. The fire does have a registered design number on the back, RD260265 dating the fire to 1895. The fire is in good antique condition with some light signs of use slight damage. The fire has some casting marks and scratches. There is a small amount of damage to one edge of the smoke flap. The concrete fire back has some cracks but is solid due to the strap that fits around it. The back has surface rust as expected. Ideal for a period property, the fire is a very pretty and desirable item. A fine example of Victorian design.
