A very ornate and pretty Victorian cast iron bedroom combination fireplace. The fire has an Adam Style design, typical of the era, with a large urn and ribbons. The corners of the cross bar have decorative motifs and the smoke flap has a pretty leaf pattern. The fire retains its original, shaped, front bars. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a lovely finish. The fire has a registered design number, RD270539, dating the fire to 1896. The fire is in good antique condition but is for decorative use only, making it ideal for a bedroom. The fire is for decorative purposes as the smoke flap has been attached to the fire and does not open due to a small break to the iron fixings to hold the smoke flap in place. The back has surface rust as expected. The fire has some casting marks and scratches. One fixing lug is broken. There is a small surface crack to the concrete back but it is solid. Ideal for a period property, the fire is a very pretty and desirable item. A fine example of Victorian design.
