FS0089 AN ANTIQUE RECLAIMED SLATE FIRE SURROUND FOR LOG BURNER/BASKET

An elegant antique, reclaimed, slate fire surround. The surround has a classical design with decorative corbels under the mantel and the crossbar has a fine border. The surround has been blacked and polished and has a rich finish. The fire is of a good size and is ideal for surrounding a wood burner or fire basket within a hearth. The fire is complete and comes with two thin concrete spacers for use when fitting to the wall. The fire is in very good antique condition and is well constructed, however there are some signs of age, as expected of reclaimed items. There are some small knocks and chips to the slate, especially the edges. The feet have some slight knocks and damage where they were previously fixed into a fireplace. There are some light scratches and marks. There is a minor break to the back of the fire. There are no major breaks. The fire surround has a fantastic appearance and its classical design makes it suited to both period or modern homes. The fire surround is a very desirable antique item.
