M1358 A BEAUTIFUL LENGTH OF ANTIQUE HAND CARVED OAK / PELMET

A very fine quality, hand carved, antique oak pelmet or piece of decorative timber. The oak has a stunning carved design featuring intertwined circles or figure of 8. The oak has had an initial sanding and the wood grain is very attractive. There are some small tabs that were created for the wood to slot with other decorative pieces originally. The oak could be used for many interior projects and would look fantastic finished, with either a fine sanding and a wax finish or re-painting. The oak is antique and has some character signs of wear. The oak has some rough edges, notches and cut marks. There are some surface splits that do not affect the structural integrity of the item. The width is uneven due to some slight damage to edges and the ends are uneven. There are some small holes, marks and residue paint, please see pictures. A very rare and interesting piece of timber, highlighting the best of period design. A very desirable and useful decorative length of oak.
