A set of 10 attractive late Victorian fire tiles. The tiles have a rich mustard yellow colour and delicate design depicting raised flowers and acanthus leaves. The tiles were originally set into a cast iron fire with the design running down each side, surrounding the fire opening and they can be used for this purpose again. The tiles could also be used for an interior project. The tiles are antique and therefore have some signs of use and wear. The tile glaze has some crazing and cracking. There are some light smoke marks and concrete residue on the back. The front of the tiles have some chips and knocks and some scratches where they have been removed from a fire. One tile has a deep scratch. The tiles have fantastic character and a very pretty design, and they are very desirable items.
