A set of 10 attractive late Victorian transfer print fire tiles. The tiles have a stunning design with an orange background and delicate patterns of the era, such as acanthus leaves, scrolls and fans. The tiles were originally set into a cast iron fire surrounding the fire opening and they can be used for this purpose again. The tiles could also be used for a splash back or interior project. The tiles are antique and therefore have some signs of use and wear. The tile glaze has some crazing and cracking. There are some light smoke marks and concrete residue on the back. The front of the tiles have some chips, marks, slight scrapes, filler residue, knocks and some scratches where they have been removed from a fire. The tiles have fantastic character and a very pretty design, and they are very desirable items.
