An elegant and attractive, Aesthetic movement, Victorian cast iron combination fireplace of an ideal size for a living room or larger bedroom. The fire has a striking and unusual design with large circular leaf designs on the body of the fire. The fire has an interesting shape with a slight curve to the body of the fire and a stylish cut out to the front of the mantel. The fire has the original decorative front bars and is paired with a reclaimed fire stool and a new fire brick that has been sprayed black to blend in with the fire. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a lovely finish. The fire does have a registered design number on the back that is hard to read but we believe it to be RD89827, dating the fire to 1887. The fire is in good antique condition with some light signs of use and wear. The back has surface rust as expected and some to the underside of the fire stool. The fire has some casting marks, pitting and scratches. Ideal for a period property, the fire is a very pretty and desirable item. A fine example of Victorian, Aesthetic movement design.
