A beautiful antique, Edwardian, Art Nouveau reclaimed cast iron tiled combination fire. The fire has an RD number on the back that is believed to be RD485119, dating the fire to 1900-1910 (the middle numbers are faint but would not affect the date if different to stated). The fire also has a design number on the back of the top plate. The fire has a very pretty design, typical of the era, with flowers and an Art Nouveau designs on the crossbar, legs and canopy smoke hood. The fire retains its original, shaped, front bars and the fire has a new or unused concrete back. The fire has pretty pink tiles on either side of the fire opening. The fire has been blacked and polished and has a nice finish. The fire is in good condition but has some signs of wear and age, as expected of antique items. There are some small chips and scuffs to the tile edges and some crazing to the tile enamel. The tiles have some areas of discolouration and some smoke marks. The iron has some small casting marks and light scratches and there are some knocks to the edging at the top of the fire opening. The left hand side fixing lug has been broken off and is therefore missing. The back has surface rust as expected. The fire is a wonderful example of Art Nouveau design and would add great character and period charm to a home.
