A very large, pretty, reclaimed reproduction cast iron fire back. The fire back is very decorative with an arched top and beautiful design featuring a large oak tree with acorns and crowns. There is a large C.R at the base and the design is an interpretation of one from Charles I era. The fire back has a plain border around the outside edges. The fire back is perfect for pairing with a large fire basket or grate or for decoration in a hearth. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a lovely finish. The fire back is reclaimed and therefore has some slight signs of use and wear. There are some casting marks, holes and scratches and some small rough patches left from casting. The back has some surface rust as expected. Please note the fire back is extremely heavy and a suitable vehicle will be needed for collection. The fire back has a striking design and it would add great character and charm to a fireplace.
