A very unusual and ornate, reclaimed, Carrara marble topped coffee table with brass base and onyx feet. The table has a wonderful design and the highly decorative brass ormolu base has been very finely cast. The base comprises of two thick legs with a period design featuring decorative borders and scrolling details. The base has a thin spreader bar with small square patterns. The brass has been highlight polished and the metal can be left to tarnish further, accentuating the tables period appearance. The brass could be fully polished by purchaser, however, to achieve a high shine finish. The Carrara marble top has attractive grey veining and is thick and heavy. The base sits upon two pale green onyx feet that have a carved edge. The feet and top are not attached to the table and purchaser could change the feet to suit. The marble top currently sits upon a metal framework that is attached to the base but the top could be attached. Please talk to us if you are considering fixing the top to the base for further information. The table is in good useable condition but does have some character signs of wear, as expected of reclaimed items. The marble top has some scratches, marks, surface cracks and some small chips to the edges and corners. The table top is solid and useable and wear is cosmetic. The metal framework for the marble top has some surface rust. There is some slight tarnish to the brass base. There are some scratches and discolouration to the onyx and one foot has a small chip at the base. The table is of a fine quality and has a very elegant design. The coffee table is perfect for adding style and is the ideal show piece for a living room.
