DE0866 A RECLAIMED VICTORIAN PAINTED PINE GLAZED FRONT DOOR

An elegant Victorian pine front door with glazed panels. The door is solid and well made with mortise and tenon joints and it currently has a black painted external face and white painted internal face. The door has three glazed panels, all with attractive shaped tops and moulded edging, and have wire glass. The base of the external face of the door has three solid raised and fielded panels in a "cricket bat" style. Hardware is required, to be supplied by purchaser, but the door does have a brass letter plate. The door has a brass escutcheon covering the lower lock but there is no key. The door has small flower stickers applied to the glass but these are peeling and will be removed for sale. The door is solid and well made but there are some signs of wear and age, as expected of antique items. The paint has some scratches and marks and will need a light sanding and refinishing if keeping the same colour or full stripping and repainting to suit. There are some holes and marks where door hardware has been removed. The door edges and corners have some slight knocks and chips and there are some chips around the letter box opening. There is some missing putty or beading around the glazed panels. The letter box plate and escutcheon have some tarnish. The door height may need slight levelling.  Please see pictures for condition details. The door has an elegant appearance and is very well made, illustrating quality Victorian design, and it will make a lovely feature within a home.
