An original, stripped pine, Georgian internal door. The large door, dating to C. 1810, has been well made and has fantastic character, highlighting its age. The door has the traditional six panel design with moulded edges. The pine has been stripped and has a good colour and attractive grain, ready for purchaser to apply a finish to suit. The door features very unusual Georgian hinges and the door would have opened away, up to 90 degrees. The door does have some rubbing to the edge due to the design of the hinges. Due to its considerable age, there are signs of wear and use. The pine has some scratches, stains and marks. The door has several holes and marks from age and hardware removal and some of the holes have been patch repaired. We can patch repair further holes for an extra charge, please contact us for details and to discuss your requirements. There are some knocks, chips and small gouges. There are some splits in the panels and there is a crack to a piece of moulding around one panel. The door height and width may need slight levelling. The hinges have some tarnish and surface rust. Please see pictures for condition details. The door has a lovely appearance with traditional Georgian design. The door has an abundance of charm and character and would be a fantastic addition to a period home.
