SOLD

Code: FC0119

Dimensions:

W: 107cm (42.1")H: 108.5cm (42.7")

A very pretty reclaimed cast iron combination fire, likely to date to the late Victorian period. The fire has a very attractive appearance with a large daisy design on the crossbar and pretty flowers in each of the top corners. The fire opening has a decorative border and the mantel has a moulded edge. The fire has its original, shaped, front bars. There are two lugs under the mantel for fixing the fire to the wall. The fire is of a large size and is very heavy, ideal for a living or dining room. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a fantastic finish. The fire does not have a registered design number but the model number and size is cast into the back. The fire is in good reclaimed condition but has some signs of use and some slight damage, as expected of antique items. The back has some surface rust. The front of the fire has some light scratches and marks and there is some light tarnish and surface rust to the grill. The smoke hood has been cut down in size as it was broken and there is a small crack visible on the left hand side. The top flap has some damage to one corner. There is a thin crack to the concrete fire back but it is solid and stable. The fire back has some new bolts to secure it.  Please see pictures for condition details. The fire illustrates fantastic period design and would be perfect for adding character and charm to a home.
