A very pretty and petite, reclaimed, late Victorian cast iron combination fire. The fire has a lovely appearance with a domed smoke hood featuring a fine design with a vase and leaves. The fire opening has a decorative border and the fire retains its original curved front bars. The mantel has a moulded edge. There are two lugs under the mantel for fixing the fire to the wall. The fire is of the perfect size for decorative use in a bedroom or for a smaller reception room. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a fantastic finish. The fire does not have a registered design number but the model number or size is cast into the back. The fire is in good reclaimed condition but has some signs of use and some slight damage, as expected of antique items. The back has some surface rust. The front of the fire has some light scratches, pitting and marks and there is some light tarnish and surface rust to the grill. The smoke flap is slightly short and there is a gap between the top edge and the fire. There is a very fine crack above the smoke flap on the back of the fire. The fire brick has a thin crack but it is stable. There is a very small gap within the fire opening between the sides and body of the fire. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire has a beautiful design and would be perfect for adding character and charm to a home.
