CS0040 A SET OF 4 RECLAIMED VICTORIAN PINE SHUTTERS

A set of four reclaimed, Victorian, pine shutters. The shutters comprise of a large and small section on each side that are hinged together. The shutters open in the centre and can be folded back and there is a large metal stay bar and receiver at the back for securing the four shutters together. The shutters have an attractive rustic appearance and each features three recessed panels with mouldings. The shutters have been painted but the paint is old and has marks, chips and a cracked effect. The shutters will need to be sanded by purchaser and finished to suit. The shutters are in good solid condition with some signs of wear and age, as expected of reclaimed antiques. The wood has some knocks and chips from age. One shutter has a nail protruding. Hardware will need to be replaced and the stay bar and receiver have some surface rust. One edge, near a hinge, has some slight damage where some of the wood has chipped away. The shutter height may need slight levelling. Please see pictures for condition details. The shutters have an elegant, rustic, period appearance and would be ideal for a large window, as a partition or for an interesting décor piece. The shutters have great charm and are very desireable.
