M1520 AN ATTRACTIVE ART NOUVEAU GLAZED HANGING HALL LANTERN

A very attractive and unusual, reclaimed, original Art Nouveau hanging lantern / light, ideal for a hallway. The lantern has a fantastic design and has glass set within a lightweight metal frame. The lantern has delicate detailing on the metal frame. Within the frame, the lantern is fitted with plain, textured glass. Each of the front and back panels have a red oval stained glass section. The lantern has a tulip type flower at the top and the wiring is designed to come through the centre. The lantern has two chains and a hook for hanging on a bracket mounted in the ceiling (bracket not supplied). The lantern has been fitted with fairly modern wiring but THE WIRING MUST BE CHECKED BY YOUR ELECTRICIAN BEFORE USE, who can then advise if any work is required.  We CANNOT accept responsibility for the wiring. The lantern is in good antique condition with some character signs of wear and age. One of the central red glass ovals has a large scratch. There is tarnish and oxidisation to the metal and the edges have been bent slightly. The glass does move within the lamp frame. The glass will need some further cleaning.  Please see pictures for condition details. The lantern is a lovely example of Art Nouveau design and would add great period character to a home.
