M1528 AN ATTRACTIVE WROUGHT IRON ARTS & CRAFTS HANGING HALL LANTERN

A very attractive and unusual, reclaimed, original Arts and Crafts metal hanging lantern ideal for a hallway. The lantern has a large domed top and a cylinder below with two wrought iron bands and scrolling ironwork. The top of the lantern has a large hanging hook and there is a hole under the hook for wiring to be fed through. The lantern currently does not have any wiring and the lantern will need to be wired by a qualified electrician. The lantern would originally have had a glass collar inside the cylinder which would be held by the bronze colour pins on the lower metal band. Purchaser could add a glass collar if desired. The lantern is in good antique condition with some character signs of wear and age. The metal has some patina and surface rust. The lower band has a small break near one of the bronze colour pins. There are some light marks and scratches. Please see pictures for condition details. The lantern is a lovely example of Arts and Crafts design and it would add great period character to a home.
