An attractive, petite, original Art Nouveau cast iron bedroom combination fire, currently painted white. The fire has a very ornate design, typical of the Art Nouveau era, with flowing leaf and flower details on each leg. The crossbar has a repeating leaf design and Greek key detail at each end. A real feature of the fire is the domed smoke hood with intricate designs. The fire retains the original front bars and grill and there are two fixing lugs, one on either side, under the mantel for fixing the fire to the wall. The fire is in solid condition but does require some refurbishment by purchaser. The paint has chips, flaking and marks and there is some surface rust visible, especially to the top flap and back of the mantel top. The fire will need to be stripped and re-finished to suit. There are some knocks and chips to the iron. There is surface rust to the grill and back of the fire, as expected. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire has a very elegant period appearance, highlighting beautiful Art Nouveau design and once refurbished, the fire would be a wonderful addition to a bedroom or smaller reception room.
