A very elegant, reclaimed, Art Nouveau cast iron fire surround. The surround has a lovely period design, typical of the era, with stylised leaf detail in the centre and sides of the cross bar and there are scrolling patterns at the base of the legs. The mantel has dentil mouldings. The cast iron has been blacked and polished and it has a nice finish. There are two lugs, one on either side of the fire surround, for fixing it to the wall and the feet have tabs that are designed to be set into the hearth or floor. The fire appears to be an early example of its model as the registered design number has been left blank. The surround is of a good size for a living or dining room and is ideal for pairing with a cast iron fire basket. The fire surround is in good antique condition with some signs of use and age, as expected. The iron has some small marks and scratches, especially to the mantel and cross bar. There are some small casting marks and pitting. The back has surface rust, as expected. One of the mantel screws is not completely flush  with the mantel. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire surround has a beautiful period look and would be perfect for adding antique charm to a fire place.
