A reclaimed, antique, traditional style cast iron bedroom combination fire likely to date to C.1900. The fire is well made and has a pretty design with a shaped smoke hood with a Yorkshire rose motif and a reeded design on either side of the hood. There is a simple border, in relief, around the fire opening. The fire has very pretty front bars, that are replacements from the same period. The front bars are slightly curved with a beautiful flower and acanthus leaf design underneath. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a lovely finish. The fire is in solid reclaimed condition but does have signs of age and some damage. The fire has some casting marks, small knocks and scratches. One fixing lug is broken. The front bars are replacements of the same period but the holes for the originals are visible. The left hand side around the fire opening has a knock. One of the mantel screws does not sit flush. The mantel has some pitting and scratches. The fire brick has some chips to the edges. The back has surface rust, as expected. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire has an elegant and pretty appearance that would be ideal for a period home.
