An original Regency Georgian painted pine fire surround that has been dated to 1822. The fire surround has a traditional design with a round corbel on each end of the crossbar and a simple column effect that runs down the legs. The pine has been painted white but the paint does have some marks, knocks and the feet have a strip where they have not been painted white and purchaser may wish to strip and re-paint the surround to suit. The surround is ideal for pairing with a cast iron insert and we have photographed it with an insert for illustrative purposes. PLEASE NOTE: the cast iron fire insert is not included in the listing and this listing is for the PINE SURROUND ONLY. If you are interested in the cast iron insert please see reference FI0056 for details, although please note the surround is currently too high for this insert and it would need cutting to size. Please contact us should you require any further information about this. The surround is in good, solid condition with some signs of age and wear, as expected of reclaimed antiques. The fire surround has some chips and knocks, especially to the edges and to the mantel. The mantel has some very small holes. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire surround has an elegant period appearance that would be suited to both period and modern properties and would add charm and character to a fireplace.
